Sometimes latest versions of the software can cause issues when installed on older devices or devices running an older version of the operating system.

Software makers usually fix these issues but it can take them some time. What you can do in the meantime is to download and install an older version of Capture One 16.8.3.

What's new in this version:

New features and functionality:
Multi-User Sessions (Beta):
- Teams can now work inside the same Session at the same time. Whether that's multiple operators on a high-volume e-commerce floor, or a photographer and their crew on a portrait or editorial shoot. No shared drives, no manual hand-offs, no single-machine bottleneck
- The beta is Mac only, and hosting requires Capture One Studio. Collaborators on any plan can join if invited, with Studio and Studio for Teams supporting up to two collaborators and Studio for Enterprise supporting an unlimited number
- Multi-User Sessions work over the local network, whether over Wi-Fi or wired (e.g., Ethernet over USB). To share a Session, go to File > Shared Sessions (Beta) > Share and Manage Session, add collaborators by their Capture One account email, and click Start Sharing. Collaborators join from File > Shared Sessions (Beta) > Find Shared Session and choose a local folder to save their copy on first join
- Capabilities are clearly divided between the host and the collaborators. As the host, you work exactly as usual with full control over the Session structure: managing imports, captures, tethering, folder creation, and file moving or renaming. As a collaborator, you receive full-resolution RAW files in real time and can freely create and edit variants, with your adjustments, ratings, color tags, and keywords instantly replicating across every screen. For a full breakdown, see Roles and collaboration limits
- If a collaborator drops off the network, they reconnect automatically after short outages. Closing Capture One is fine too, reopening the Session picks back up without going back to Find Shared Sessions. Any collaborator can convert their local copy to a standalone Session. This breaks the sync permanently but leaves a fully usable independent Session

User experience and performance improvements:
Delete unused Enhanced Denoise data:
- You can now delete all unused Enhanced Denoise sidecar files in one step. In the Noise Reduction tool, open the ... menu and select Manage Enhanced Denoise Data... > Delete
- AppleScript support for Subject, Background, and People Masking
- AppleScript support has been extended to cover Subject, Background, and People Masking. You can create a mask from a script, target specific body areas, and generate separate mask layers per person
