The service is powered by the small and unobtrusive app that is installed just on the host Mac, but for anyone wishing to view live screen share sessions, they are just required to visit ScreeLeap’s website!
The procedure for getting ScreenLeap app ready for action on desktop Mac and MacBooks is very simple and requires downloading and running of a small installation package that weighs just a bit under 1 MB, following simple on-screen instructions, and then simply locating the active app that has found a home in the taskbar icon area.
Clicking on this icon opens a small dropdown menu with just a few options: Start Screen Share, Stop Screen Share, sign in, and Quit. After starting the screen share, the app will present you with a unique share code, which can be sent to all of your participants using email, text chat, or social network messaging. Users with that code can visit Screenleap’s website, enter that code in the header of any page there, and instantly be connected to the live video session straight from your desktop.
ScreenLeap for macOS requires minimal resources, but it is highly advisable to have a fast internet connection that can handle the uploading of high-quality videos. In addition to simple sharing with family members or friends, this app is also fully ready to be deployed in school and business environments, where multiple users can easily collaborate without the friction of installing remote desktop viewing apps.
The app even supports the automatic collection of viewers' information, which is perfect for hosts that want to hold online webinar sessions and afterward gather crucial information from the viewers. The entire procedure of handling screen sharing and inviting viewers is so simple that many macOS users from around the world have fully embraced this app, making it a cornerstone of their content sharing.
ScreenLeap for Mac can be used for FREE. However, there are some limitations to the free tier of use. The daily screen sharing limit is set to 40 minutes, the number of viewers is capped to 8, and the host can create only two scheduled meetings. These limitations go away with the purchase of some of the offered premium monthly subscription licenses (Basic, Pro, and Company).
Note: Unless you have an account, you can share your screen for 40 minutes per day and up to 8 viewers, 2 scheduled meetings.
