What's new in this version:

Improved Resize AI Models:
- New 2026 Highest Quality Model — This state-of-art generative AI model produces the highest quality results available. It uses diffusion technology to recreate new details and sharpness that the original photo lacks. It also removes noise and other artifacts. It is perfect for small, low-quality input, AI generated art, and tight crops. It may not be fast, but the results are worth the extra wait.
- New 2026 Standard Model — This new model performs better than existing Resize AI models on low-quality, noisy, and artifact-ridden input while maintaining performance for batch processing, large output, or older GPUs.
- No Noise Reduction Needed — The new AI models for 2026 do an amazing job of reducing noise and JPG artifacts natively and don’t require additional noise reduction as part of the resizing process.

Subject & Background Masks:
- The new automatic subject and background masks simplify the most common masking subjects. Now in a single button press you can create beautiful, highly-accurate masks for your subject or the background.

Masking Layers:
- Masking now works like layers. You can use multiple masks and masking tools for any layer, adjustment, or filter. You can independently control each mask layer and even how they combine to add, subtract, or intersect with the masks below it. This gives you unparalleled flexibility and control.

Improved Mask Quality:
- We have worked hard to improve the quality of the masks generated by AI in Photo RAW 2026. This includes depth masks, Super Select AI, and Mask AI. These masks are now more accurate along the edges, even for tough stuff like hair and tree branches.

Add Filter Improvements:
- In Effects when you add a filter, you use the Add Filter dialog. This has been enhanced so you can now mark your favorite filters, search better, hide less used or legacy filters, and add filters with AI masks easier.

Effects Starting Points:
- In Effects, you can now set a default starting preset. This can start with the filters you use the most or mimic other apps you may be moving from like Adobe Lightroom Classic or Capture One. The filters start as off, then you just click to turn on the ones you want to use. You can also create your own starting point presets and switch them based on your needs like genre or the look you want to achieve.

Depth Lighting Filter:
- Imagine being able to control the lighting in your scene after the shot. This amazing new Depth Lighting filter lets you lighten or darken the foreground or background in your photo easily. It’s powered by our improved depth masking technology. Now it is easy to key-shift your photo and make your subject pop naturally.

Split Field Filter:
- The new Split Field filter mimics the classic glass filter of the same name, also known as a split diopter. It lets you magnify half of the scene to balance out size differences caused by wide angle lenses. It lets you bring the background closer like a telephoto while maintaining the wide angle look in the foreground.

Double Exposure Filter:
- Now it’s easy to make creative double-exposures without struggling with in-camera settings. Start with your subject photo, then choose one of the many included secondary exposures to blend together. You control everything about the blending appearance. You can blend it dark or light, you can protect your subject, you name it. Feeling creative, press the random button and get something more organic.

Motion Filter:
- The new Motion filter adds intentional camera movement to your static photos. Now you can pan, zoom, or twist the camera after the shot. You can control how much your subject is protected as well. It’s a great way to add dynamic motion and reduce cluttered backgrounds.

Negative Mode:
- If you are digitizing film negatives using your digital camera instead of a scanner you are going to love negative mode. This inverts your photos and corrects the colors automatically. This maintains all the sliders in Develop so they work as you would expect instead of being backwards.

Grayscale Support:
- You have been asking for it. Now ON1 Photo RAW 2026 supports grayscale color mode when opening photos. If you have old scans and photos you recorded in grayscale you can now view and edit them just like any other photos.

Transform Improvements:
- We have made using the Transform pane easier. There are now separate tools for horizontal and vertical keystoning. It also automatically scales the photo to prevent transparent corners. Plus the algorithm is more accurate.

User Interface Enhancements:
- Now you can float or dock the properties and layers panes. You can even dock them on the left instead of the right giving you more room for controls in Edit like Develop and Effects.
