Sometimes latest versions of the software can cause issues when installed on older devices or devices running an older version of the operating system.

Software makers usually fix these issues but it can take them some time. What you can do in the meantime is to download and install an older version of NeoFinder 8.7.1.

What's new in this version:

New and updated features:
- Certified for macOS 15.0 "Sequoia". We do however highly recommend to wait for Apple to fix the FireWall, SMB, and networking bugs in macOS 15.0, among others
- Catalog thumbnails and metadata of Nikon Z 8 and Z 9 compressed NEF files
- Auto-Updater writes the duration time and the number of files and folders to the log file after updating of a Catalog has completed
- AppleScript has access to the cataloged text content of files
- Catalog the EXIF copyright text of some RAW formats

Fixed:
- Fixes a problem with photos taken with iOS 17.x (both JPG and HEIC), where the GPS view direction could contain certain values that caused NeoFinder to compute the wrong view direction for some files
- Works around a bug in iOS 17.x, where HEIC files from PRO or MAX iPhones contain multiple malformed XMP records, which caused adding new metadata with NeoFinder to fail
- Works around bugs in Apples iCloud drive in macOS 14 and macOS 15, when trying to Catalog the entire "Macintosh HD" startup volume
- Works around bugs in Apples Xcode 16.0, which creates code that crashes applications in macOS 10.14 "Mojave"
- Improves cataloging the XMP color label name from certain RAW files
- Improves the dialog when NeoFinder asks to remove a hierarchical keyword from all files. That could sometimes display the wrong keyword name
- Editing the EXIF Capture Date immediately updates that value in any content view, not only the Inspector
- The Places window immediately reacts properly to changes of the Appearance
- Fixes a problem of incorrectly showing QuickEdit in the Details View for offline or write protected files
- Fixes a problem where exporting data from offline volumes could be very slow if the path field was activated for the export
- Saving a new Smart Folder works when the name contains a "/" character
- Duplicating a Smart Folder works when the name contains a "/" character
- Improves speed when updating a Catalog containing many XMP sidecar files
- Improves behaviour when cataloging malformed Release Date values of some ePub files
- Fixes a problem using the "no keyword is" search parameter in the Find Editor
- Improves editing the EXIF Capture Date for very large MP4 files (larger than 2 GB)
- Improves behaviour when trying to catalog damaged or malformed EPS files with Ghostscript
- The place name search field in the Map is also "very dark"
- Fixes many minor issues
- NeoFinder 8.7.1 requires Mac OS X 10.14 "Mojave" or newer, including macOS 15 "Sequoia", Intel or Apple ARM M1, M2, or M3
