Sometimes latest versions of the software can cause issues when installed on older devices or devices running an older version of the operating system.

Software makers usually fix these issues but it can take them some time. What you can do in the meantime is to download and install an older version of Bean 3.3.4.

What's new in this version:

Change:
- Mouse/Trackpad scrolling of text in draft view now works even when the pointer is over the "buffer area" to the left and right of the text area

Bugfix:
- Removing the ruler accessory view by returning nil or dummy view for rulerAccessoryView stopped working consistently in Big Sur. We now swap out a new ruler view when necessary
- The "Highlight" and "Invisibles" toolbar icons now appear correctly in Dark Mode
- Fixed a problem where the Inspector was not updating the type of measurement units when Format > Units was changed in the menu bar, or when Preferences > Advanced > Use millimeters… was selected. Also, the Inspector is now inactive when the Preferences window is being used
- Fixed a problem where the document sidebar width was not always saved when quitting the app
- Fixed a problem where Preferences would fail to open on the first try on Big Sur
