Sometimes latest versions of the software can cause issues when installed on older devices or devices running an older version of the operating system.
Software makers usually fix these issues but it can take them some time. What you can do in the meantime is to download and install an older version of MacPilot 17.4.2.

What's new in this version:
- Modification: More descriptive error messages if the primary database can't be setup
New:
- New Feature: DNS lookup type popup now includes many additional record types (CAA, DS/DNSKEY/RRSIG/NSEC/NSEC3, TLSA, SSHFP, SVCB/HTTPS, NAPTR, LOC) beyond the basic set
- New Feature: Added TXT “special-purpose” lookup modes with row tags to drive correct query names (SPF, DMARC, DKIM selector, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, BIMI, ACME Challenge)
- New Feature: SelectionChanged logic now reads row tags (not display text) and updates labels/placeholders contextually (PTR, SRV, and TXT subtypes)
- New Feature: LookupStart now builds dig commands from row tags, automatically prepending required owner-name prefixes for TXT subtypes (e.g. _dmarc., _mta-sts., _smtp._tls., default._bimi., _acme-challenge., ._domainkey.)
- New Feature: DKIM mode repurposes the second field as “selector” and constructs the correct DKIM query name automatically
- New Feature: PTR mode supports using Host as the primary IP and Server as an optional alternate IP, and uses dig -x instead of treating the second field as a DNS server
Fixed:
- LookupStart now validates/normalizes inputs consistently after moving to tag-based lookup types (trailing dot cleanup, correct per-mode field usage, safer command construction)
- ProcessLookupLine now uses the selected row tag to label +short results correctly (e.g. “TXT (DMARC)” instead of just “TXT”)
- Improved no-answer reporting remains consistent across new lookup modes by preserving status parsing and showing a clear NOANSWER summary
- Update the process to kill after setting Screenshot settings on Tahoe
- Minor UI adjustments
