Filename
peazip-10.3.0.DARWIN.x86_64.dmg
The program features a powerful unified cross-platform GUI providing the same look and feel under all supported operating systems, and unlike most of the other classic archive managers, it is natively portable.
PeaZip project is based on the solid and proven technology of 7-Zip project for handling many mainstream archive formats, and other great Open Source file compression tools (FreeARC, PAQ, UPX) for supporting additional file formats and features, and comes localized in 29 languages.
How to install PeaZip archive manager on macOS
To install PeaZip archive manager utility on macOS machines, open the DMG package recommended for your architecture (M1 can run both), and simply (1) drag & drop peazip.app into your Mac's Application directory, (2) open the Terminal and run the command:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/peazip.app
If the system shows the error message "peazip.app is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash" or "peazip.app cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified" the first time you run PeaZip, it simply means Safari has applied the "quarantine" attribute to the downloaded app package.
Alongside data compression and decompression, the file manager component supports search, bookmarks, use of online cloud disk services, batch rename, view and edit images (resize, optimize, convert), verify hash and checksum, find duplicate files, update existing archives, and try to open/analyze custom file types as archives.
The application is especially focused on security: strong encryption of archives, optional two-factor authentication, encrypted password manager, secure data deletion, integration with antivirus and anti-malware for scanning compressed files, etc... Tasks created in the GUI can be saved and scheduled as batch scripts, i.e. to help automate backup / restore operations, or for fine-tuning tasks using the flexibility of console.
Free archiver, 150+ file types supported zip files
Open, test, and extract over 150 extensions: ACE, ARJ, CAB, DMG, ISO, LHA, RAR, R01, UDF, ZIPX files, and more... Create and convert 7Z, ARC, BZ2, GZ, *PAQ, PEA, SFX, TAR, UPX, WIM, XZ, and ZIP files. Manage spanned and encrypted archives.
