Sometimes latest versions of the software can cause issues when installed on older devices or devices running an older version of the operating system.

Software makers usually fix these issues but it can take them some time. What you can do in the meantime is to download and install an older version of Ableton Live 12.2.5.

What's new in this version:

New Features and Improvements:
Control Surfaces:
- Added control surface support for the Novation Launch Control XL 3
- Improved device navigation in newer control surfaces (such as APC64 and Move) in order to better account for device selections made in Live

Updated the Komplete Kontrol S MK3 Control Surface:
- Track meters are displayed using the track's color
- Encoders can fine-tune parameter values while Shift is held
- The tempo can be controlled in Tempo mode (accessed via Shift + Metro)
- Devices can be selected, controlled, and viewed in Plugin mode

Interface:
- Updated various software text translations in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.
- Updated software text in various areas of Live
- The following Kilohearts plug-ins are now shown as MPE-compatible: Phase Plant, Mulitpass, and Snap Heap
- On Windows, the GPU renderer now displays icons more quickly, improving the responsiveness in the browser, mixer, and Session views when expanded to a large size

Move Control Surface:
- When using Move in Control Live Mode, the parameter mappings of Auto Filter are now consistent with Standalone Mode

Fixed:
Live Bugfixes:
- Fixed an issue where the content of the Clip View's editor would disappear when zooming in a non-playing clip with the + or - keys while Follow mode was active
- Fixed a cut-off label that appeared in the Record, Warp & Launch Settings when using Live in French
- Fixed a bug that caused an offset at the start of the recording when resampling audio
- Fixed a crash that occurred when moving the insert marker with arrow keys while dragging a breakpoint with the mouse at the same time
- Fixed an issue where the color entries were missing from the Arrangement clip context menu after renaming a clip
- Sample rate, bit depth, and channel count are now displayed in the Clip View when multiple audio clips are selected, as expected
- Fixed an issue where Collision's noise generator would randomly skip MIDI notes during playback when switching between Noise and Mallet
- Fixed a bug where Analog would sometimes skip first note with the buffer size set to 32 samples
- Live now correctly updates the color of the waveform in the Clip View when muting and unmuting an audio clip
- Fixed a bug where Arrangement clips starting at 1.1.1 would sometimes fail to send a program change when starting playback immediately after loading a Set
- Fixed MIDI program change for some VST3 plug-ins, including Korg M1, Sylenth1, and Viper
- Fixed a crash that occurred while playing back audio clips
- Fixed a bug where bouncing to a new track was not disabled when the Arrangement time selection contained only take lane clips
- Tracks with a selection only containing take lane clips or muted Arrangement clips are now ignored when bouncing to a new track. Before this fix, this would have created empty tracks without any clips
- Fixed a crash that occurred when zooming the Arrangement View via the Python API while renaming a locator
- When Live is synced to a MIDI clock leader, the latency between the leader and Live is reduced and no longer changes with the tempo. While the fix results in a more stable latency, it may change timing in old Sets where Live was synced to an external MIDI clock source, so the -UseLegacyExtMidiClockIncrement option can be added to the Options.txt file to revert to the original behavior.
- Fixed an issue that occurred when bouncing a track with a delay or reverb effect, where the resulting effect tail clip of a clip that was followed by a muted clip before the bounce would have an incorrect length and and an incorrect name
- Fixed an issue that occurred if an effect tails clip was overlapping a muted clip, where the tail clip would be split at the border of the muted clip
- Fixed a bug where, in muted clips, a bounced clip and effect tail clip would be created if the track had a generator-like effect such as Vinyl Distortion
- Fixed a crash that occurred when opening .ablbundle files when no User Library was configured
- Fixed an issue in Drift where enabling the Mono and Oscillator Retrigger modes in Drift then playing a note and holding it while pressing another note would not change the pitch of the oscillators
- Fixed a bug in Auto Filter where a new value for the SC Gain parameter value was not correctly saved when saving the changes as a new default preset
- The LFO step quantizer in Auto Filter will now correctly take into account the LFO Phase and LFO Phase Offset parameter values when the values are changed during playback
- Fixed a crash on macOS that occurred when attempting to open a Set with a removed alias file
- Fixed a bug where the first file would be overwritten when exporting two tracks with the same name but different capitalization when using the Selected Tracks Only export option
- Fixed an issue that caused graphical artifacts with automation curves that used a large number of breakpoints
- Plug-in scanning and browser indexing is now faster on Windows
- Fixed a crash that occurred when dragging corrupt MIDI files into Live
- Fixed a crash that occurred when loading a Set containing MP3 files if the set cache folder was missing
- When loading a Move or Note Set in Live, the Melodic Sampler instrument is converted to Simpler with the expected number of voices
- Capture will no longer clear its buffer when notes are played over a playing clip and the transport is stopped. Previously, the buffer could be unintentionally cleared in some cases
- Fixed a bug where changes to playing session clips were not reflected if the take lane audition switch was enabled for that track
- On Windows, the GPU renderer no longer causes unexpected pauses longer than 100ms in certain scenarios, such as when displaying all automation envelopes in the Arrangement view

Fixed:
- Added a speculative fix for an issue that prevented Push 2 from starting after updating to Live 12.2 on Windows
